Statistically far too many attacks and with the Pamela Lawrence murder back in the unsolved column and The Sharon Mason murder conviction looking less and less safe the statistics only seem likely to get worse. 1988 June 20 Julie Cutler was last seen leaving the Parmelia Hilton Hotel Perth on St Georges Terrace at 12.30am after a staff function. Julie is not seen again. Her car is found 2 days later in the sea off Cottesloe Beach. 1994 Jan 1 woman driving home from Club Bay View fights off man who dragged her from her car and tried to rape her near the Claremont subway 1994 May 23 Pamela Lawrence is murdered at her shop in Mosman Park. Andrew Mark Mallard is wrongfully convicted of her murder in 1995. He is ultimately cleared some 12 years later 1994 Oct A 31-year-old woman breaks her ankle when she leaps from a speeding taxi on Princess Road after the driver and another man try to attack her. 1995 Feb 12 Teenager abducted in Rowe Park, tied with electrical flex and raped at Karrakatta Cemetery. 1996 Jan 27 Sarah Spiers 18, spends the evening with friends at Club Bay View. At 2.06am, she calls taxi from a Claremont phone box. When the taxi arrives she has gone and is not seen again. 1996 Feb Police confirm they have received reports of bogus taxis in Perth. 1996 Mar 3 A 21-year-old woman is bashed and indecently assaulted in Church Lane behind Club Bay View. 1996 Jun 9 At 12.15am Jane Rimmer is last seen by four friends outside the Continental Hotel after deciding not to share a taxi home. 1996 July 1 Police issue questionnaires to 100 suspects. 1996 Aug 3 Rimmer's naked body is found in bush at semi-rural Wellard, 35km south of Perth, lightly covered with sticks and twigs a few metres off road. Police comb bush, divers search lakes. 1996 Aug 31 More than 35 taxi drivers are sacked during August after new checks reveal histories of violence or perversion. The search for overseas convictions eventually leads to 78drivers losing their licences. 1997 Mar 14 Ciara Glennon farewells friends outside Continental Hotel about midnight. 1997 Mar 16 Police say they fear a serial killer is on the loose, release year-old photo of Glennon with dark, curly hair. 1997 Mar 17 State Government announces $250,000 reward for information. 1997 Mar 18 Denis Glennon makes an emotional appeal for help from the public. "Clara's alive - we believe that," he says. Debbie's life was taken at the young age of 24yrs, she had her whole life ahead of her. Her charred remains were found in the front seat of a burnt out white Ford Laser vehicle registration KA6594 at a shopping centre in Dance Drive, Middle Swan at approximately 12.26am. 25 January 2000. Various questions remain unanswered about the death of Debbie and her movements on the day of her death.
Further Information:: Debbie had been out from England approximately 6 months and was staying with her father and his partner in Perths northern suburb of Woodvale. Debbie was studying to become a chef at the Australian School of Tourism and Hospitality and had plans of opening her own restaurant one day.
Debbie loved animals and told her father on the morning of 24th January 2000 her plans were to go to Perth Zoo that day. Her first stop 9.40am was at the ATM machine at the intersection of Trappers and Timberlane Drive, Woodvale to withdraw some money. Her movements from there until the discovery of her charred remains at 12.26am remained unknown.
Police baffled by her death at the time, trying to piece together the final movements of Debbie to determine whether it was murder, suicide or accident. Midland Senior Detective Rick Weskin said “they were treating the death as suspicious and said it hasn't been downgraded to an accidental or suicide-type death and it certainly hasn't been upgraded to a homicide investigation at this stage.”
Detectives were not able to establish whether she had travelled to South Perth. Police initially interviewed people and set up mobile police facility vans at the Woodvale and Middle Swan shopping centres, posters of Debbie were placed in various locations.
A few months later new forensic evidence revealed the white Ford Laser with registration KA6594 she had borrowed from a family friend had travelled to Geraldton and back on the day that her charred remains were found. Police did country runs to Geraldton and back stopping at all the roadhouses along Brand Highway to Geraldton then taking a different route travelled back to Perth along Brand Highway/Great Northern Highway to see if anyone had sighted Debbie on that day.
With so many unanswered questions relting to Deborahs movements on the day and the distance that the vehicle she was driving had traveled it is difficult to see this death as anything other than murder.

Psychic called to help solve mysterious death

A Clarkson woman desperate to solve the mysterious death of her niece, who was found burnt in a car 11 years ago, has called on a British psychic.
Kathleen Cox said the inquiry into Deborah Michelle Anderson's death was "gathering dust" so she turned to Diane Lazarus as her "private investigator".
The 24-year-old's remains were found by firefighters when they attended a blazing Ford Laser at Middle Swan shopping centre about 12.20am on January 25, 2000.
Ms Anderson, a student chef, came from England to live with her father in mid-1999. She had borrowed the car from her father's partner almost 15 hours earlier to go to Perth Zoo. Mrs Cox believes her niece was murdered, although police said they could not rule out an accident, perhaps that Ms Anderson fell asleep in the car while smoking. Police were unable to work out what Ms Anderson had done between leaving Woodvale and being found in Middle Swan. Forensics had shown that the car went to Geraldton and back that day, although Ms Anderson had no links to the town.
Ms Anderson's mother, Maureen Morris, died in England in 2003 and her sister, Mrs Cox, promised not to rest until she found out what happened. Mrs Cox conceded some people had had awful experiences with charlatan psychics but she believed Ms Lazarus was gifted. Ms Lazarus admitted she did not always find the answers. "If it brings lights on, in the sense it gets publicity for that person so the police reinvestigate, that's good enough," she said.
Mrs Cox urged anyone with any information to come forward.

Circumstances of Disappearance: Ciara was last seen on Friday 14 March, 1997 at about 11.55pm as she left The Continental Hotel in Claremont.
On Friday 14 March, 1997 at about 6:00pm Ciara Glennon attended a work function with her colleagues. Ciara was a lawyer and worked at a law firm in Saint Georges Terrace, Perth.
Ciara and group of her friends left this private function at around 11:00pm and attended the Continental Hotel in Claremont, the same place Jane Rimmer attended the night she was murdered.
The group arrived at around 11:30 pm and after about 20 - 25 minutes, Ciara told her friends she had had enough and was leaving. There is a confirmed sighting of Ciara walking down Bay View Terrace towards Stirling Highway.
Investigators are confident that there are sightings of Ciara down on Stirling Highway outside a business called Australian Computer Resellers, next to the Dental Surgery.
As she passed the Taste of Thai Restaurant and Baptist Church, a male person who was sitting at the bus stop opposite called out to her that she was 'crazy' for hitch hiking. Ciara dismissed him with a wave/gesture. This male was with two other friends. A few minutes later Ciara is seen interacting with the occupant/s of a light coloured vehicle further along Stirling Highway, near Stirling Road.
Ciara is seen to lean over with her hands on her knees and it appears she speaks to the occupant/s.
A few minutes later, the male turns back and the vehicle and Ciara are no longer in view. There are other possible sightings of Ciara along Stirling highway and it cannot be confirmed if Ciara did or did not get into this vehicle.
The occupant/s of this light coloured vehicle has/have not been identified.
Ciara was reported missing to Police on the 15th of March, 1997.
On the 3rd of April ,1997; 18 days after being reported missing, Ciara's body was found in bush off Pipidinny Road, Eglington.

Circumstances of Disappearance: Some time between 8.00 pm and 8:30 pm on Saturday the 8th of June, 1996, Jane Rimmer attended the Ocean Beach Hotel in Cottesloe. This is the same hotel that Sarah Spiers was drinking in on the night she disappeared.
At that location, Jane met up with some friends. They stayed there for about an hour , before Jane and her friends caught a taxi to the Continental Hotel in Claremont arriving at about 9:30 pm.
Jane and her friends stayed at the Continental Hotel until they left just after 11:30 pm, to go to Club Bay View. This is the same nightclub that Sarah Spiers was socialising at shortly before she went missing.
Jane and her friends didn't enter the nightclub, instead they decided to catch a cab to a friend's place where they would continue to party. As they got to the taxi rank near the Continental Hotel, Jane informed her friends that she didn't want to go home and without any more explanation, she walked off back to the Continental.
Her friends jumped in a cab and pulled up outside the Continental and yelled over to Jane who was standing outside to join them but she declined.
At about midnight, Jane is sighted on security camera footage outside the Continental.
At about a minute past midnight, a male person is seen to approach Jane and there is a brief interaction between the two before the security camera recording changes views to another part of the hotel.
When the recording returns to Jane, about 28 seconds later, this man is no longer in view.
This person has been named the 'mystery man'. Despite extensive inquiries police have been unable to identify this person. Approximately 700 people were shown the footage or still photographs of the male.
Jane remained outside the Continental Hotel for another 2½ minutes.
At about 4 minutes past midnight , the security footage changes view and when it returns to where Jane was standing she is no longer in view.
Police have several possible sightings of Jane in the immediate vicinity but nothing is confirmed.
55 days later on the 3rd of August ,1996, Jane's body was discovered in Wellard, about 40 kilometres south of the Perth CBD.

Police have today positively identified human remains found in a shallow grave after a skull and leg bones were found at Karragullen, south-east of Perth, last week.
Detective Sergeant Scott Higgins says investigators used distinctive jewellery found at the crime scene and X-rays to positively identify Debra Joy Donnachy.
Ms Donnachy's husband, James Donnachy, filed a missing persons report in relation to his wife's disappearance in May 1992.
He became a suspect in the disappearance, but was killed in a vehicle accident the day after police interviewed him in relation to the report.
Detective Sergeant Higgins says police inquiries have been frustrated because their main suspect was dead.
"It was a fairly difficult inquiry because the missing person was, as I said, missing," he said.
"The main suspect was deceased, there were very few clues at the house and there were no other witnesses that they could find."

Circumstances: The disappearance of Sharon Mason spread fear through Perth after she vanished in 1983, when her body was found and Arthur Greer arrested that fear began to subside. It was all but relieved by the conviction of her 'murderer' in 1994.
I have no doubt that Greer has been less than a great guy to be around over the years and even dangerous at times. However, from the evidence now available I believe it is highly unlikely that if Arthur Greer was charged today that the case would not even make it to trial.
This leads to two problems that must be addressed urgently. Arthur Greer must be released from prison and the murder case of Sharon Mason must be re-opened.
The small stretch of highway through the exclusive suburbs of Mosman Park, Claremont and Cottesloe has been the witness to a very significant number of unsolved disappearances, predatory attacks and murders and though its convenient to consider that the attacks are not linked, statistically that is becoming a very long bow to draw.
