The Minister for Police and Corrective Services has approved a reward of $250,000 be offered for information which leads to the apprehension and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder of Margaret Rosetta Rosewarne at Mudgeeraba on or about 5 May 1976.
INDEMNITY FROM PROSECUTION:
In addition, an appropriate indemnity from prosecution will be recommended for any accomplice, not being the person who actually committed the crime, who first gives such information.
The allocation of the $250,000 reward will be at the sole discretion of the Commissioner of the Police Service.
CIRCUMSTANCES:
The body of Margaret Rosetta Rosewarne was found at about 3.45pm on 21 May 1976. The body was located in long grass some eight metres off the edge of a newly formed road within the industrial development site called Newcastle Street about one half-kilometre from Reedy Creek Road, a back road between Burleigh Heads and Mudgeeraba. She had died as a result of massive head injuries.
