In the 1990's eight suspects were cleared by DNA testing. Additionally police recently deemed a series of handwritten letters naming the killer as a hoax.
Ms Armstrong was raped and stabbed 29 times, while Ms Bartlett was stabbed 55 times. Ms Armstrong's 16-month-old son, Gregory, was left unattended in his cot in the next room for two days before the murders were discovered.
